College Football Preview - Week 1 viewers guide

As a college football junkie, right now is a major time of the year. We find out when and what channels we get to watch our favorite teams play on the first three weeks of the season. Today its what games from week 1 we should be watching in each telecast window from both an SEC and Pac-10/Mountain West perspective early on.

Thursday September 2 - Opening day
Games of note
Southern Miss @ South Carolina, 6:30 CT, 4:30 PT, ESPN
Pittsburgh @ Utah, 7:30 CT, 5:30 PT, Versus
USC @ Hawaii, 10 CT, 8PT, ESPN

SEC fans should watch Southern Miss @ South Carolina then USC @ Hawaii if inclined to watch anything else. Pac-10/MWC fans should watch Pittsburgh @ Utah if able then flip to USC @ Hawaii after that game ends if USC hasn't already blown Hawaii out.



Friday September 3
Hardcore Pac-10 fans should watch to see if Arizona can avoid Colorado's fate from last season at Toledo. Game is ESPN at 5 PT.

Saturday September 4
Games of note
Illinois vs Missouri, 11:30am CT, 9:30am PT, FSN
Colorado vs Colorado St., 1 CT, 11am PT, the mtn.
Purdue @ Notre Dame, 1:30 CT, 11:30 PT, NBC
UCLA @ Kansas St., Connecticut @ Michigan, Kentucky @ Louisville, 2:30 CT, 12:30 PT, ABC/ESPN2 Regional window
Washington @ BYU, 6 CT, 4 PT, CBS College Sports (ouch)
TCU vs Oregon St., 6:45 CT, 4:45 PT, ESPN
LSU vs North Carolina, 7 CT, 5PT, ABC
Cincinnati @ Fresno St., 9 CT, 7PT, ESPN2
Wisconsin @ UNLV, 10 CT, 8PT

SEC fans should watch Illinois/Missouri (unless desperate to watch Florida feed on a Miami (OH) cupcake), then Kentucky/Louisville followed by LSU/North Carolina.
Pac-10/MWC should watch Illinois/Missouri until the Colorado/Colorado St. game starts. Watch that until it ends or becomes a blowout and then switch to UCLA/Kansas St. After that its Washington/BYU if you have the channel until the TCU/Oregon St. game starts. Flip between the two then watch the Wisconsin/UNLV game with an eye on Cincinnati/Fresno since Wisconsin should run the Rebels off the field.

Monday September 6 - Labor Day night
Boise St. vs Virginia Tech, 7 CT, 5PT, ESPN
All should be watching this. There is no other game on and this is the biggest game of the weekend by far.
