Where is the blog going from here?

As those of you who read this might have noticed, this blog has been relatively sporadic and dark over the last few weeks. There are a variety of reasons from the real job moving to full-time to having been sick for weeks to some others. That said, it's time to get this thing up and running again.

Originally, I was just going to start writing again. Kind of an oh, its back type of thing. Then I saw the farewell post by Matt Hinton over at Dr. Saturday. For those who don't know, I have been an avid reader of that site and have patterned at least a bit of my writing and analysis after what Hinton has done for the last three and a half years. When I went to the site today and saw he was exiting, it made me sad. At the same time, I felt inspired to write again, and that is usually a problem at this time of year considering I live on the West Coast and college basketball is hard to follow nationally and a smoking crater regionally (thanks Pac-12 for being epically awful this year), college basketball is in the off season and cycling is a long way away from the Grand Tours that I enjoy and write daily about.

So, with that out of the way, what next here? Starting tonight, it will be back to business as usual. Offseason college football reviews will start at some point this week. College basketball coverage will start again tonight (Conference tournaments start this week, amazingly). Cycling will be in season preview mode as the first major stage races of the season start shortly leading into the major part of the Cobblestone classics season. Heck, I might even find some time for some MMA, tennis, and soccer. In addition, when I am watching sports, you will be able to find me on twitter commenting on whatever I feel the need to comment on.

Other than those basics, at some point soon, this site will be moving. It's time to split the sports off into their own sites, or at least their own categories. It's just weird to have European professional cycling and US college football on one site in the same place. Also, for those of you who are board game inclined, my gaming group and I will be starting a games blog at some point in the near future so watch out for that.

Thanks to everybody for reading so far and I look forward to reading and hearing your comments over the coming weeks and months.

Also, if anyone out there wants to try their hand at writing on any of the sports I have mentioned or some other sports, let me know either in the comments, by email or via twitter.
