Bowl Projections

BCS Bowls
National Championship Game - Texas Tech vs Florida
Texas Tech will win this week at Oklahoma and then beat Missouri to win the Big 12. Florida, after struggling against Florida St. will whip Alabama to reach the title game.
Rose Bowl - USC vs Penn St.
USC will beat UCLA while Oregon St. is going to lose Saturday against Arizona allowing the Trojans to reach the Rose Bowl again while Penn St. is one home win against Michigan St. from a Rose Bowl trip of its own.
Fiesta Bowl - Texas vs Ohio St.
With Texas Tech in the national title game and Oklahoma with 2 losses, the Fiesta would happily select Texas to replace Texas Tech and match them with Ohio St. who will be eligible as long as they don't lose to Michigan.
Sugar Bowl - Alabama vs Utah
The Sugar would take the next best SEC team after the team in the title game as they have done the last two years and take Alabama. With the options of either Utah or Cincinnati, the Sugar would begrudgingly pick Utah.
Orange Bowl - Virginia Tech vs Cincinnati
The Orange Bowl gets the scraps, and the Big East and ACC champs are most certainly the scraps this season.

Other New Year's Bowls
Capital One Bowl - Michigan St. vs Georgia
The Capital One has a problems in the sense that Georgia isn't all that great, but nobody in the Big 10 outside of BCS bound Ohio St. and Penn St. are very exciting this season
Cotton Bowl - Oklahoma vs LSU
The Cotton Bowl will be happy until the bloodletting begins. This looks like a premium matchup, but not this season. Oklahoma is way better than LSU.
Gator Bowl - Notre Dame vs Miami
The Gator wants Notre Dame, even with five losses, because of the current economic climate. Matching them with nearby Miami, happy to be back in the bowl picture after a couple years away, will ensure a sellout.
Outback Bowl - Northwestern vs South Carolina
Northwestern goes here because of a head-to-head win over Iowa while South Carolina goes here because there's really no other decent SEC fit left except Vanderbilt and no bowl in their right mind is going to stage a Vanderbilt-Northwestern game unless forced to.

Other Noteworthy Bowls
Chick-fil-a Bowl - Florida St. vs Ole Miss
The former Peach Bowl has the number 2 pick in the ACC which will be used on Florida St. to get an out of town team with a big following in (sorry Georgia Tech fans). They get scraps from teh SEC this season. Ole Miss is a better fit here than Vanderbilt or Kentucky (though Vandy wouldn't be a surprise).
Holiday Bowl - Oregon St. vs Oklahoma St.
Oregon St. falls here after losing to Arizona while Oklahoma St. has been rumored for this spot since the win over Missouri.
Sun Bowl - Arizona vs Nebraska
Arizona heads to El Paso since the Sun Bowl won't want Oregon for the second year in a row. They will play Nebraska, the best of the bunch below the elite of the Big 12 (the south teams + Missouri)
Alamo Bowl - Iowa vs Missouri
Missouri goes here with no south representative left from the Big 12 while Iowa is the only truly viable option (unless they lose to Minnesota) from the Big 10
