Bowl Game Picks – Final Set before the Title Game

Mobile Alabama Bowl (I refuse to use corporate names unless necessary and this was the original name before the trip to the wilderness with GMAC and now godaddy.com) – Miami (OH) vs Middle Tennessee (-2) , 5PM PT Tonight, ESPN
Neither team is very good (even with Miami's surprise conference title) and Middle Tennessee is playing a lot closer to home and still has its coach. The Blue Raiders will romp as Miami can't possibly keep playing close games and winning them. Also, when the Redhawks lose, its generally ugly.
Middle Tennessee 41, Miami (OH) 20

Cotton Bowl – LSU (-2) vs Texas A&M, 5PM PT Friday, Fox
By far the best non-BCS bowl matchup was this one and hopefully it gives us a better game than the majority of the other non-BCS games. Texas A&M has been a different team since Ryan Tannehill entered the lineup in favor of inconsistent (and possibly injured) Jerrod Johnson at quarterback, but the real transformation since then has been in the running game and on defense. Cyrus Gray has been over 100 yards in every game since the change and the defense has held everybody since then except Texas below their season numbers (and Texas was only at the number because they are so putrid). For LSU, the question, as it has been all season, is quarterback play. If the Tigers get any production from that spot at all, they usually win. If not, they still have a chance with some sort of smoke and mirrors Les Miles is a crazy man approach. They will need the production this game though and they aren't going to get it. It will be close though, just like LSU's two losses with no production from quarterbacks.
Texas A&M 27, LSU 21

Birmingham Bowl (aka Compass or whatever its called) – Pittsburgh (-3.5) vs Kentucky, 9AM PT Saturday, ESPN
On talent, Pittsburgh should win this game, but they are in total coaching disarray right now. If anyone has any idea what to expect out of them, please contact me so I can change the pick to be more accurate at before gametime. At Kentucky, they are in quarterback disarray. Mike Hartline is suspended and I have no idea what the Wildcats will do at the most important position on the field and I don't know if it even matters to fans considering that basketball season is in full swing now and Kentucky has a good team again as usual. Flip a coin. Go with the team closer to home.
Kentucky 21, Pittsburgh 20

Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl – Nevada (-7.5) vs Boston College, 6PM PT Sunday, ESPN
Boston College has the top ranked run defense in America, but they haven't seen anything like what they are about to see from Nevada's rushing attack. The pistol offense keeps opponents off balance and then gashes them for big yards. Even if Boston College manages to slow the pistol some, it won't matter though. The Boston College offense is awful and won't score enough points to keep up no matter how well the defense plays. The Eagles only chance is to score on defense and or special teams.
Nevada 31, Boston College 14
