Game of the Week – Wisconsin vs Ohio St. (-4), 4PM PT, ESPN
Ohio St. has looked very good thus far for the most part, but there were some issues that popped up in the two tests so far against Miami and Illinois. Normally, this would b e a good spot to pick an upset and I have seen that many are, but Wisconsin about as bad as a 5-1 top 25 team can be. I realistically see no route to victory meaning the Buckeyes will cruise to a surprisingly easy victory.

Auburn (-4) vs Arkansas, 1230 PM PT, CBS
Time to get on the Auburn roller coaster again. This time against the best quarterback the Tigers will face all season. Considering that the Auburn secondary has been torched over and over and over again all season long, Cam Newton better be ready to play his best game of the year. Luckily, he won’t quite need that kind of performance because Arkansas will shoot itself in the foot at some point allowing Auburn to win a game it probably has no business winning.
Auburn 31, Arkansas 27
Nebraska (-9.5) vs Texas, 1230 PM PT, ABC/ESPN
Texas has looked awful the last two games and there is no way the bye week fixed the offensive issues even if the defense is ready to play (which it will be). Taylor Martinez will be held in check and the Nebraska will look a lot more like last season’s Nebraska offense. It won’t matter because the Texas offense is that awful.
Nebraska 17, Texas 7
Texas Tech (-3.5) vs Oklahoma St., 1230 PM PT, Fox Sports Plus (Good luck finding that)
Texas Tech’s offense finally looked like its old self last week at Baylor in a bizarre shootout win. Oklahoma St. has looked great offensively all season long. Shootout is on the way and this game turns into a don’t mess with a streak prediction. Oklahoma St. hasn’t won in Lubbock since the Big 12 was formed. It won’t start this season.
Texas Tech 38, Oklahoma St. 30
Texas A&M (-3.5) vs Missouri, 9AM PT, FSN
Nobody (me included) has any idea what to expect from Missouri. The Tigers have played mostly nobodies and haven’t looked impressive in the games against Illinois and San Diego St., arguably the two best teams the Tigers played so far. On the other side, we can expect the usual from Texas A&M. Lots of points, lots of passes and lots of dumb mistakes allowing the other team with equal talent to win.
Missouri 34, Texas A&M 27
Kentucky vs South Carolina (-5.5), 3PM PT, ESPN2
Gamecocks have traditionally been awful in these spaces after big wins, but this team seems different and Kentucky’s defense isn’t going to be good enough to take advantage if the Gamecocks come out asleep anyways. South Carolina will give up some points but win comfortably.
South Carolina 42, Kentucky 27
Hawaii vs Nevada (-7), 830PM PT, ESPN Gameplan
Nevada has been asleep the last few weeks since entering the national rankings. They will pay for that on the island week. Hawaii has quietly been getting much better and smoked Fresno St. last week. Nobody on the remaining home schedule is going to stop the Warrior passing game.
Hawaii 45, Nevada 35
Michigan vs Iowa (-3.5), 1230 PM PT, ESPN/ABC
Denard is good. Iowa’s defense is better. Much better. The only chance Michigan has is of the defense can do a little bit against a more conventional offense that isn’t very explosive. It will do enough to keep things close, but the Wolverines won’t win.
Iowa 24, Michigan 20
Florida (-7.5) vs Mississippi St., 4PM PT, ESPNU
Mississippi St. is much improved, but this is a bad spot. The Gators are mad and coming off two straight losses, one a very painful one at home. The defense is going to come out frothing at the mouth and the offense, while still bad, will do enough to win easily.
Florida 24, Mississippi St. 10
Michigan St. (-7) vs Illinois, 9AM PT, Big Ten Network
Illinois showed it is better than expected in last week road takedown of Penn St. Michigan St. is now harboring fringe national title hopes. Neither is as good as they have shown so far and both have past mental issues that are just lying dormant. When in doubt, don’t go with Zook.
Michigan St. 27, Illinois 17
