Week 3 viewers guide

As usual games are ranked by time slot in order of importance with a brief write-up after. Home team is listed first

Morning games – 9AM PT
Georgia vs Arkansas – ESPN
North Carolina vs Georgia Tech – Raycom/ESPN Gameplan
Iowa St. vs Kansas St. (in Kansas City) – FSN
West Virginia vs Maryland – ESPNU

The Georgia-Arkansas game should take of most of the time for most fans in this time slot It has been getting a fair amount of hype as Arkansas plays its first real opponent and Georgia looks to save its season with a win. For those who have it, the North Carolina-Georgia Tech game is likely worth a look to see how much suspension riddled North Carolina has improved since the LSU game and if Georgia Tech is really as bad as they looked against Kansas. The Kansas St.-Iowa St. and West Virginia-Maryland games I believe will be fairly easy wins, but could be worth a look if close late in the game.

Afternoon games – 12:30 PM PT
Washington vs Nebraska – ABC/ESPN2
Tennessee vs Florida – CBS
Florida St. vs BYU - ESPNU
Wisconsin vs Arizona St. - ABC/ESPN2
Oklahoma vs Air Force – FSN
TCU vs Baylor - Versus
Minnesota vs USC – ESPN
Duke vs Alabama – ABC/ESPN Gameplan

Lots of games here with some teams getting a first test. Nothing is very highly anticipated, but there are likely to be some very good games in this time slot. While mostly irrelevant at this point, the Florida St.-BYU game could be a very fun shootout in Tallahassee.

Prime time games – 4-5 PM PT
Texas Tech vs Texas – ABC/ESPN2
Auburn vs Clemson – ESPN
Michigan St. vs Notre Dame - ABC/ESPN2
Wyoming vs Boise St. - CBS College Sports
LSU vs Mississippi St. - ESPNU

This is where three of the better games of the day reside. Get the remote ready (unless you, like me will be watching the Auburn-Clemson game in 3D) for a night of changing back and forth as the top three games are all likely to be close games coming down the stretch.

Late Night games – 7PM PT and later
Arizona vs Iowa – ESPN
Stanford vs Wake Forest – ESPN2
UCLA vs Houston – FSN
Idaho vs UNLV – ESPNU

The game of the day is in this time slot and the Pac-10's increased visibility on ESPN by allowing games from its ABC TV contract to be shown on ESPN really helps this time slot get some good games. In the past, the Arizona-Iowa game would have likely been on FSN and the UCLA-Houston and Stanford-Wake Forest games would have been looking for regional scraps and local feeds. This is a big improvement and the presence of multiple good games means more reason to stay up late watching on the East Coast or not go out on the West Coast.
