Game of the Week – Arkansas vs Alabama (-7), 1230 PM PT, CBS
Alabama has looked great so far, but the competition leaves a lot to be desired while Arkansas has looked good against even weaker competition (though at Georgia was likely a much tougher test than home against Penn St.). The game here comes down to the Arkansas defense and how good it really is. Since I still don't believe, I don't believe Arkansas can win this game, especially since the Alabama offense has been incredible so far.
Alabama 34, Arkansas 24

Auburn (-3) vs South Carolina, 445PM PT, ESPN
South Carolina fans had to enjoy watching their rival and their opponent the next week beat the heck out of each other last Saturday. I think both teams have some questionmarks in the passing game and in the secondary, but I believe these teams are even. Normally, that would mean a home team pick, but not here with Auburn beat up after last week's war with Clemson.
South Carolina 27, Auburn 23

LSU (-8.5) vs West Virginia, 6PM PT, ESPN2
This is an awful matchup for West Virginia. The Mountaineers are inconsistent and lack an offensive identity. LSU normally chews up and spits out teams like that. Of course, it will be tougher than it needs to be. This is LSU we're talking about here.
LSU 27, West Virginia 17

Arizona (-6.5) vs Cal, 7PM PT, FCS Pacific
This certainly has trap game written all over it for Arizona. Cal, while talented, just got steamrolled by a WAC team while Arizona had its biggest non-conference win in over 10 years. Arizona also plays Oregon St. next week. Luckily for the Wildcats, they are at home and Cal quarterback Kevin Riley is still an interception machine on the road.
Arizona 31, Cal 24

Boise St. (-17.5) vs Oregon St., 5PM PT, ABC
The Rodgers brothers will get their yards but not many points. The Oregon St. defense will have some answers for Kellen Moore, but not enough. Boise wins, but not by enough to cover this spread.
Boise St. 31, Oregon St. 20

Pittsburgh vs Miami (-3.5), 430 PM PT Thursday, ESPN
A true crossroads game for both these teams and their disrespected conferences. Both teams lost a big road non-conference game and looked sloppy and ill-prepared while doing it and both have beaten an FCS team. For Miami, if Jacory Harris can stop throwing interceptions, they will be plenty good enough to win here. Even if he doesn't, it won't matter this week. Pitt just isn't very good at all this year (not that it will matter in Big East play).
Miami 27, Pittsburgh 13

Georgia Tech (-8.5) vs NC State, 9AM PT, ESPN
NC State has rolled up a 3-0 record against questionable competition thus far while nobody really knows what to make of Georgia Tech carrying an inexplicable home loss to Kansas and wins of an FCS team and suspension riddled North Carolina. I don't feel good about this pick considering the NC State passing game is good and the Georgia Tech secondary is bad but...
Georgia Tech 34, NC State 28

Notre Dame vs Stanford (-5), 1230PM PT, NBC
Notre Dame has defensive problems. Stanford is blowing teams up and smoked UCLA 35-0 on the road. This isn't likely to end well for the Irish, even if they score some points.
Stanford 45, Notre Dame 28

SMU vs TCU (-18), 5PM PT Friday, ESPN
SMU hung tough with Texas Tech and beat Washington St. TCU quarterback Andy Dalton is a heck of a lot better than anyone either of those two teams has, the Frogs have a running game, the defense is up to its usual standards and TCU needs style points playing in front of a national television audience. Hide the women and children unless something truly bizarre happens
TCU 51, SMU 20

Florida (-14) vs Kentucky, 4PM PT, ESPNU
Florida is still ripe for the picking. Kentucky would likely be good enough to do it, if the game was in Lexington. Alas its not and the Wildcats will fold in the second half against that defense, just like every other Florida opponent has so far this season.
Florida 27, Kentucky 14
